US 70 HAVELOCK BYPASS PROJECT R-1015 IN CRAVEN COUNTY, NC

Construction was slated to start winter 2017, but the Southern Environmental Law Center filed a lawsuit to stop the project, citing the effect on long leaf pine and wildlife. (View Link)

The bypass is being constructed to help improve freight and traffic along the U.S. 70 corridor and to assist economic development for eastern NC. Visit the NCDOT website for more information.
